Nate Herman is Executive Vice President and Chief Auditor and has held this role since joining Huntington Bank in June 2019. Herman is responsible for the design and implementation of Huntington’s Internal Audit program ensuring that governance, compliance, operations, and internal controls are in place to effectively identify and manage risk.
Since 2011, Herman has held key executive roles in the areas of risk, cybersecurity, global operations, and program management. Prior to joining Huntington, he was Head of Regulatory and Specialty Operations at JPMorgan Chase as well as held Risk Management positions covering Global Security, Cyber Security and Business Resiliency, Auto and Student Lending, and Chase Global Operations. Before then, Herman worked for the United States Cyber Command and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in various leadership roles. He spent more than eight years on active duty as an officer in the United States Marine Corps including a combat deployment to Iraq. Herman is a board member of the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, an organization with a mission to set up educational accounts for children whose parents were deceased while serving in the United States Marine Corps or any Federal Law Enforcement Agency.
Herman earned his bachelor’s from Villanova University and his master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University.
