Questions We Hear The Most...

When will I receive my Huntington credit card?
Huntington replacement MasterCard® credit card(s) will be mailed in late February to cardholders who have used their FirstMerit credit cards within the past 12 months.

Continue to use your FirstMerit credit card until you receive your new Huntington MasterCard. Activate your new Huntington card upon receipt; your current FirstMerit card will be deactivated at that time.
Do I need to order new Huntington checks?
No need to order Huntington checks for now. Continue to use your existing checks (FirstMerit, Citizen’s) until they run out.

The next time you reorder checks, your checks will be updated with Huntington name and account number.
Will I need to reestablish my Bill Pay with Huntington?
Upon enrollment in online banking at, your transaction history and user and bill pay information, including bill payees and scheduled payments, will be transferred.

Here are some important bill pay differences you need to know:
  • At Huntington, funds are debited from your account on the same day your bill pay authorization is processed (if before 4 PM ET), not on the due date.
  • Electronic payments must be scheduled two business days in advance of the desired due date. Payments made via check must be scheduled five days in advance.
When can I activate and use my Huntington debit card?
Please activate your new Huntington branded debit card on the date indicated on the sticker on your new card.

Your account number has changed, however, your PIN will remain the same as your FirstMerit debit card.

To take advantage of all the benefits of your new Huntington debit card, begin using right away.

If you previously set up automatic or recurring payments with your utility providers, bill pay, or merchant websites, you will need to update them with your new billing information.

Your FirstMerit debit card will no longer be active when you activate your new Huntington debit card, or until March 14, 2017 if no action taken.
How can I activate my new Huntington debit card?
You can activate your Huntington debit card on the date indicated on the sticker on your new card in three ways:
  1. Use the card at any ATM (doesn't need to be a Huntington ATM) or Point-of-Sale merchant.
  2. Activate online via Huntington Online Banking.
  3. Call the activation line at 1-888-240-0559.
Where can I find my new account numbers?
You will find your new account and routing numbers on your Huntington Mobile Banking app, via Huntington OnlineBanking or on your first account statement from Huntington.

You’ll find your new loan account numbers on your first account statement or Huntington online banking.
Do I need to reset/reschedule my current ACH transactions?
Your ACH transactions will continue as scheduled with no action required on your part, even though account numbers changed. We’ll take care of notifying the originators and recipients of any ACH transaction.
How will 2016 tax reporting be handled?
Huntington will send you and the IRS any applicable tax reporting information for 2016. If you receive tax statements through prior to February 21, please save and print them for your records.
Will I be able to see any of my past FirstMerit account activity?
Yes, we are migrating the last two years of Account Activity from FirstMerit to Huntington. This will include deposit account transactions and statements.
What are hours for Huntington branches?
Branch hours vary, but you’ll find that in many cases the hours will be more convenient than before. And, Huntington has many branches in supermarkets in Ohio (Giant Eagle) and Michigan (Meijer) with 7-day banking. What is happening with my FirstMerit mortgage?
The FirstMerit mortgage systems conversion occurs on March 4, 2017.

Your loan information and payment options will be available on Huntington Online Banking starting March 4, 2017.

There will be no changes to the terms and conditions of your mortgage. Account numbers will change, and automatic payments from your checking account will continue uninterrupted.
