About David
David Ortiz is the Chief Auditor for Huntington National Bank. He is responsible for the design and implementation of Huntington’s Internal Audit program, ensuring that governance, compliance, operations, and internal controls are in place to effectively identify and manage risk. At Huntington, he previously served as the Deputy Chief Risk Officer, managing the Issues Risk Management Office.
Prior to joining Huntington in July 2022, Ortiz worked at BMO Financial Corporation in a variety of roles including leading a team of credit officers, as well as working for the U.S. Chief Risk Officer in building out the risk management function. He also held a variety of roles in the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, including Head of the Wholesale Credit Risk Center.
Ortiz spent 18 years in asset management and corporate finance, including serving as Senior Portfolio Manager with Pioneer Investments, where he managed the corporate securitization platform. He served as Partner and Head of Private Placements for Asset Allocation & Management Company, where he managed corporate, asset backed securities and private placement investment portfolios for the firm’s insurance company clients.
Ortiz earned a Bachelor of Science, Business and Finance from Miami University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
