Chicago, the third most populous city in the U.S., is known as an international hub of finance, commerce, industry, technology and transportation. Huntington supports efforts to revitalize communities throughout the greater Chicagoland area, including investing in small businesses and other economic development.
MLK Day of Service
The Martin Luther King (MLK) Day of Service is marked annually across the country to celebrate the community-building principles championed by the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The day is designed to bring together citizens of every age and background donating their time and talents toward strengthening their communities and creating solutions to social problems through community service. Each year, Huntington colleagues join across the region by participating in a variety of volunteer events. The Chicago region honored the day of service at the Greater Chicago Food Depository on January 16 where more than 30 colleagues repacked food. Almost 6,900 pounds of food were repackaged which went to area pantries to assist in feeding the hungry.
