Huntington Impact Investment Philanthropy Program

Mission

Huntington has a more than 160-year history of strong community involvement and supportive civic leadership. We believe that developing relationships and investing in local nonprofit and charitable organizations builds healthy and vibrant communities. Consistent with our purpose, we support charitable programs and initiatives that seek to improve self-sufficiency and quality of life as well as advance social and economic equality in the communities served by Huntington.

Huntington Foundation Giving Guidelines

Programmatic support may be provided to organizations with the appropriate Internal Revenue Service tax-exempt designation (501c3 or 170c1) serving communities located within Huntington’s footprint. Huntington focuses following critical areas of impact. Requests for funding outside the focus areas will be evaluated and considered if they reflect documented community needs and align with Huntington’s overall impact goals.

Community revitalization and stabilization

Activities in low- and moderate-income areas, designated disaster areas or underserved or distressed geographies.

Community services

Activities where more than 50% of those served are low and moderate income.

Affordable housing

Activities that provide access to affordable housing options for low- and moderate-income individuals and families.

Economic and community development

Activities assisting low- and moderate-income individuals and families and small businesses or farms.

Huntington Foundation Funding Restrictions

Please recognize the following limitations1 specific to grant support; grants will not be provided for the following purposes:

  1. Event sponsorships
  2. Capital campaigns
  3. Endowments and foundations
  4. Multi-year requests
  5. Individuals, lobbying or political organizations, or activities for sectarian purposes
  6. General operational budgets (request should be program specific)
  7. Individual fundraising
  8. Research
  9. Producing films, videos and television programs

1Huntington Foundation reserves the right to approve exceptions to the limitations outlined above.

Application process

Huntington Foundation's grant program requires an invitation from a Huntington Community representative to apply. Huntington remains interested in exploring new partnerships and supporting innovative programs aligned to our giving pillars.
