Applying for a bank account online is quick, easy and secure – it takes just 5 to 10 minutes to open a bank account. Before staring, you need to decide whether you’re opening a joint bank account or an individual bank account. You also need to decide which type of checking account will best serve your needs.

To apply you’ll need your Social Security Number and a U.S. Government issued ID, like a driver’s license or a passport.
You also need a means to fund your new account. If you’re opening your new checking account online, this can be done through mobile deposit of a check or an electronic transfer of funds. If you’re opening your new account in a branch location, you can fund the account with cash, a check, money order, or electronic transfer of fund.

To open a bank account with Huntington in person, visit a branch during business hours. It is important that you bring identification (your Social Security Number, driver’s license and/or passport) and be ready to make an initial deposit. A banker can answer any questions and help you open the bank account that meets your financial needs.
