Confirm It

When you open a Huntington debit or credit card, you are automatically opted in to Confirm It. We’ll let you know immediately by text, email or automated phone call if we suspect fraud on your Huntington debit or credit card. There is no charge by Huntington for Confirm It texts. Message frequency varies and depends on card use.

Card lock

When your Huntington debit card isn’t where it should be, you can prevent the card from being used with the Lock Card feature on your Huntington Mobile Banking app. When you find your card, unlock it. It works in real time. Even if you haven’t lost your card, use the app to lock and unlock it whenever you want. Just tap lock card if you suspect fraud to stop anyone from making purchases, taking cash advances, or transferring balances.

Credit Bureau Fraud Alerts

If you think you may be a victim of fraud or identity theft, you can place a free fraud alert with any of the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion). A fraud alert tells lenders to take extra steps to verify your identity before opening new credit in your name. When you place an alert with one bureau, they’re required to notify the other two.

An initial alert lasts 1 year and can be renewed. Victims of identity theft who file a report at IdentityTheft.gov can request a seven‑year extended fraud alert.

For even stronger protection, consider a credit freeze. Learn how it works in our guide. Everyone is also eligible for a free, annual credit report from each bureau to help you monitor your information.
