Sandy Pierce is Senior Executive Vice President and Chair of Michigan, where she is responsible for all of Huntington’s activities in the state. She most recently led several of the bank’s revenue-generating businesses, including Huntington Private Bank, Huntington Insurance, Vehicle Finance and Regional Banking. Pierce joined Huntington in 2016 with the merger of FirstMerit, where she was Vice Chairman of FirstMerit Corporation and Chairman and CEO of FirstMerit Michigan.
Pierce is a board member of Penske Automotive Group, American Axle & Manufacturing, ITC Holdings Corp. and Barton Malow Company. She is currently chair of the Henry Ford Health Foundation and was formerly chair of the board of the Henry Ford Health System, an $8 billion healthcare system based in Detroit. She recently became the first female chair of the Detroit Economic Club and was appointed to the Michigan State University Board of Trustees by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Pierce received a bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing and MBA in business administration/finance from Wayne State University. She and her husband Tom reside in Northville, Michigan and have three children and six grandchildren.
