Frequently Asked Questions About User Research

-

Q: What is user research?

User research helps us improve our products and services. By listening and observing we are able to improve your banking experience.

Q: What types of studies would I partake in?

There are a variety of different research activities we ask our users to take part in. We conduct usability tests where we ask you to interact with a prototype or an existing product. We conduct interviews to learn about particular daily habits. Or we may ask you to keep a log of certain activities over a given period of time. The type of activity depends on what we want to learn.

Q: Where would I go to take part in a study?

We may ask you to visit our Huntington facility (Columbus). Or invite you to an online study where you use your own computer or mobile device in your home or office. This all depends upon the type of study we are conducting.

Q: What's the time commitment?

Depending upon the type of study, time will vary. Remote online sessions range anywhere from 5 - 60 minutes. In usability studies and field studies, you could spend one-and-and-half hours with a researcher.

Q: When and how will I be contacted about a study?

As new studies arise, we contact people we think might be a good match for the topic. Generally, you'll receive an email explaining the details of the study. Within the email, we will provide a link to a questionnaire that will help us assess if you're a good fit.

Q: Will I get paid for participating?

Compensation varies upon the type of study and the time commitment required.

Q: If I sign up, are you going to send me spam or sell my information to other companies?

No. As explained in the Huntington Privacy Notice we do not share personal information with non-affiliated third parties to market to you. We will only use the information you provide us to help us find suitable participants for user studies. If we need to clarify information with you, we will contact you.
